Slovenia Remains Perfect: Hosts Dominate Romania to Finish Group Stage Unbeaten

Slovenia produced another outstanding performance on Monday, July 13, defeating Romania 95–51 to complete the group phase of the FIBA U20 EuroBasket 2026 with a perfect 3–0 record. The hosts controlled the game from the opening minutes in front of their home fans at Arena Stožice and now head into the Round of 16 full of confidence.

Slovenia Takes Control Immediately

The Slovenian U20 national team started with tremendous intensity and left no doubt about the outcome early in the game. Slovenia won the opening quarter 30–14, then extended its advantage even further before half-time with a 26–12 second period.

By the break, the hosts had built a commanding 56–26 lead. Their defensive pressure, quick ball movement and efficient finishing gave Romania very little room to find rhythm.

Slovenia continued to dominate after the interval, winning the third quarter 19–10, before closing out a comprehensive 95–51 victory. The result marked Slovenia’s third win in as many games in Group D.
