Slovenia March Into EuroBasket U20 2026 Semi-Finals After Türkiye Win
Host nation Slovenia delivered another confident performance at the FIBA U20 EuroBasket 2026 in Ljubljana on July 16, beating Türkiye 90–72 to secure a place in the semi-finals. The quarter-final day also saw France, Spain and Serbia advance in convincing fashion.
Slovenia Stay Perfect in Front of the Home Crowd
Slovenia continued their outstanding tournament run with an impressive 90–72 victory over Türkiye at Arena Stožice. After eliminating Belgium in the Round of 16, the Slovenian team once again showed quality, energy and composure in a high-stakes knockout game.
The hosts built their advantage through disciplined play on both ends of the floor and never allowed Türkiye to take control of the contest. Backed by the home supporters in Ljubljana, Slovenia maintained their unbeaten record and moved one step closer to a medal at the tournament.
The result sends Slovenia into a highly anticipated semi-final against France, with the hosts aiming to extend their remarkable run on Saturday, July 18.
France Overcome Croatia
France booked their place in the last four with a 76–66 win over Croatia. Croatia stayed competitive throughout the contest, but France produced a strong finish to take control and confirm their semi-final place.
The French side remains unbeaten in Ljubljana and will now face Slovenia in one of the tournament's biggest games so far.
Spain Too Strong for Germany
Spain continued their strong campaign with an 88–69 victory over Germany. Spain established control early and maintained their momentum throughout the game, showing their depth and efficiency in the knockout stage.
With the win, Spain progressed to the semi-finals, where they will meet Serbia.
Serbia Dominate Greece
In the final quarter-final of the day, Serbia produced a dominant display to defeat Greece 92–66. Serbia were in control from the opening stages and confirmed their place among the final four with one of the most convincing victories of the day.
The Serbian team will now prepare for a semi-final showdown against Spain, while Greece will continue in the classification games.
