Maribor Take Top Spot as Celje Celebrate First League Win
The fourth round of the Prva Liga Telemach produced important results at both ends of the early-season table. Maribor moved into first place with a composed win over Koper, while Celje edged Olimpija in one of the weekend’s biggest fixtures.
Celje 1–0 Olimpija Ljubljana
Celje claimed their first league victory of the season with a narrow 1–0 home win against Olimpija Ljubljana. The decisive moment arrived in the 70th minute, when 18-year-old debutant Tilen Letonja scored the only goal of the match.
The victory gave Celje a valuable three points after a demanding start to the campaign. For Olimpija, however, it was another frustrating result, leaving the Ljubljana side with only three points from four league matches.
Maribor 2–0 Koper
Maribor delivered one of the standout performances of the round, defeating Koper 2–0 to climb to the top of the standings. Žiga Repas and Isaac Tshipamba found the net for the home side, securing a controlled and deserved victory.
With two wins and two draws from their opening four matches, Maribor remain unbeaten and lead the league on eight points. Koper, meanwhile, stay on five points after suffering their first defeat of the season.
Aluminij 1–1 Nafta 1903
Aluminij and Nafta 1903 shared the points in Kidričevo after a closely contested 1–1 draw. The home team took the lead through Petar Petriško, but Nafta responded through Josip Ivan Zorica to secure a valuable away point.
Nafta remain near the top of the table with seven points, while Aluminij collected another draw as they continue their search for a first win of the new league season.
Bravo Ljubljana 1–1 Brinje Grosuplje
Bravo and Brinje Grosuplje also finished level, drawing 1–1 in Ljubljana. Brinje took the lead during the first half, but Bravo responded after the break to earn a point.
The draw keeps both clubs in the middle of the early standings. Bravo are third with seven points, while Brinje Grosuplje sit sixth on five points after four rounds.
